Interview with socialite, singer and fashionista Jonny Makeup

By Editor • Jul 4th, 2009 • Category: Fashion View

Jonny Makeup is probably one of the craziest celebrities you’ll ever hear about. He is a singer, a socialite, an Internet celebrity, a fashion icon and American Apparel heiress!

Coming from a small town, Jonny made it at a really young age to fabulous New York City, where he started his singing career as a member of the V.I.P Party Boys, a hardcore gay hip-hop trio that he formed with his friends Peter Party and Bear.

Together they caught the attention of many celebrities, singers and designers such as Le Tigre, Beyonce and Jeremy Scott, although Jonny decided later to start his solo career, which he is still working at!

One day, he was introduced to Dov Charney, founder and actual CEO of American Apparel, and since then, they developed a very close relationship with each other, which allowed Jonny to become the heir of Dov’s company!

Also, Jonny has appeared in several episodes of the tv series “Kendra” with his BFF Kendra Wilkinson and thanks to that, he recently received his own personal page on IMDB, of which he is super proud of!

I personally learnt about Jonny Makeup, when I watched Cazwell’s video for the song “I seen Beyonce at Burger King”, which I love and I remained really impressed by the whole thing! Then, later on, I got a chance to talk to him and see who Jonny Makeup actually is and luckily, I also got a chance to ask him some questions, so that you too can get to know this amazing guy better!

FT: Jonny, you are now a very famous celebrity. What were your dreams when you were younger? Is this what you’ve always wanted for yourself or have you become something completely different from what you were planning to be?

J: Ever since I could remember all I wanted to do was sing and dance and make people laugh. I loved the attention and still do. I have always wanted to be famous and was very vocal about that.

Johny and Beth Ditto

FT: What  exactly do you do at American Apparel and how do you like it?

J: On my biz card it says “company spokesmodel”! It’s great, I love my job, everyday I count my lucky stars!

FT: A comment on your experience for the Paris Hilton’s BFF?

J: I was never cast for Paris’ BFF. I was asked to audition for season 2 but turned down because I was already filming a show with one of my gal pals, Kendra, whom I love! I hung out with Paris a few times at her house parties, she is a very sweet girl and we have a lot in common, but my true BFF is Peaches “Pinky” Geldolf

FT: Do you have any idols? If yes, who are they?

J: Taylor Swift and Lauren Santo Domingo

FT: Some of your future plans?

J: To finish my album with Cory Enemy and Dallas Austin and….get more famous!

American Apparel has come out with a t-shirt to celebrate him too! You can get it for $35 on the official webstore and stores!
