8 Handbags That Stand The Test Of Time

2 July 2008 2 Comments

Expensive handbags not only suffice as fancy accessories, but are a sign of the high ‘status’ of their owner. They are a worthy investment, and wealthy people are ready to spend thousands and thousands on them.

Forbes magazine unveiled the list of 8 new bags which stand the test of time, but we can’t agree with all of the items. While Mulberry’s Roxanne remains a bargain from Forever 21, Ralph Lauren’s Ricky bag is a nod to Birkin. There is only one bag that really stands the test of time – the Chanel 2.5 quilted bag and it’s twice as cheap as Giorgio Armani’s clutch , that remains a copy of Chanel.

Giorgio Armani Clutch

Retail Price: $8,195 (each)
Small and perfectly formed. A crocodile clutch bag transcends seasons and trends.

Burberry Lowry Bag

Starting price: $2,995

If this becomes a classic like the company’s trench, your $2,995 will be well-spent. Up the ante and splurge on the $23,000 corrugated alligator line shown here.

Chanel 2.5 Quilted Bag

Starting price: $3,495
A must-have since Coco Chanel herself designed it, the 2.5 bag is available in seasonal colors and classic black. Whether yours is brand new or a family heirloom, it’s likely to complement any outfit, especially a little black dress.

Louis Vuitton Speedy Cube Bag

Starting price: $2,000
This bag is an innovation of the classic speedy bag, an LV best seller. The Fall/Winter 2008 version merges trend with tradition, allowing for a useful and beautiful bag that will outlive seasonal trends.

Mulberry Roxanne Bag

Retail price: $695
Since it emerged on the fashion scene, the Roxanne bag has been produced in many variations from patent leather to snakeskin.

Prada Bag

Retail price $2,500
This bag is expected to be one of the big sellers in Prada’s Fall/Winter 2008 Ready To Wear collection.

Ralph Lauren Ricky Bag

Retail price $17,600
The Ricky bag has become the archetypal example of American luxury and class. Available in many colors and finishes including alligator and canvas, there is a Ricky bag for every mood and every age.

Fendi Baguette

Retail price: $3,790
Some say the Baguette, first introduced in 1997, bred a generation of bag-crazed ladies. There is a Baguette for every day of the year, including versions in printed canvas to mink fur.

You are right. The Ralph Lauren Ricky bag has become the archetypal example of American luxury and class. But it is so expensive amongst 8 classic bags.

Armani’s collection for Authum/Winter 2009/2010 is really, absolutely amazing. This is the brand, which can amaze us in every moment and shows what the fashion will be looking like.
