10 hippie-drippie outfits of Mary Kate Olsen

2 July 2008 3 Comments

It’s official: we do not favor the hysteria surrounding the Olsen twins. While Elle and Harper’s Bazaar proclaim one of the twins – Mary Kate as a style icon, we here at The Fashion Time consider her hippie-drippy style weird and ridiculous.

The first thing you should know about Mary Kate – she loves full length dresses and skirts. Maxi never looks good on short women. She loves belts which make her waist appear too skinny, and cause her to look like a victim of anorexia. She loves fur and is always criticized by PETA. She loves weird vintage pieces and when she wears them, people think she’s stolen her outfit from her grandmother’s closet.

One word that exactly describes her style is ‘messy’. And here she is, the one and only,  Mary Kate Olsen at her messiest.

1. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida  baby… This outfit has to be made out of hemp. And why does she need three bodyguards? No one’s stealing that dress.

2. It looks similar to a frock my hairstylist wears, when she cuts my hair.

3. Springtime for Blackwell. Don’t let him see her in this crazy number.

4. Baggy-Saggy, the old woman look. If you paparazzi don’t stop taking my picture, I’ll clobber you with my Godzilla bag…

5. C’est un petit Black Kimono avec beaucoup belt from hell. How does she exhale or even breathe? It’s not humanly possible with that belt.

6. it’s like a mini-caftan, frou-frou, muu-muu, all in one. It’s indescribable…

7. Frazzled in plaid, she’s heading for Japan, with tights quite the sight, she’s not dressed alright.

8. Quite the electrifying outfit, as Mary Kate appears to be in a state of shock. Don’t step in any puddles, Mary Kate. Zap…Zap…

9. Is she wearing a designer sheet?

10. Bad girl, bad girl, what you going to do… Little Princess meets Las Vegas naughty nighty. I think I saw this outfit once at The Bunny Ranch, but I don’t want to talk about it.
